Why does AltTab need Accessibility permissions?
macOS requires Accessibility access for any app that reads window titles or moves focus between windows. AltTab uses this permission solely for window switching — nothing else. You can grant it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Does AltTab work with Stage Manager?
Yes. AltTab shows all open windows regardless of whether Stage Manager is on or off.
Can I use AltTab alongside macOS Command-Tab?
Yes. By default AltTab uses Option-Tab so it doesn't conflict with the built-in switcher. You can also remap it to use Command-Tab if you prefer to replace the default entirely.
What happens after the Pro trial ends?
All free features keep working. Pro features (search, extra styles, auto-size, and additional shortcuts) are disabled until you purchase a license. Nothing is lost.
Is AltTab open source?
Yes. The source code is available on GitHub under GPL-3.0. You can build it yourself. The Pro license applies to the pre-built, signed binaries.
